Our Story

The founders

Pax Psychology started when two friends — one in finance, one in psychology — both found themselves needing support.

 

Ed’s a psychologist. George works in finance. But despite their different career paths, both saw a need for psychological support to improve during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

George found he was burnt out, and it was affecting his performance at work. Ed through his work discovered that many people didn’t understand the benefits of psychological support and was interested in looking at ways he could improve the referral process for clients to access Psychologists.

Peace of mind over perfection.

These days it can be easy for us to strive for ‘perfection’ when it comes to our mental wellbeing. That’s not our style. Pax Psychology is based on the idea that each person should celebrate finding their own peace of mind (‘pax animi’ in Latin through psychological support). 

 

Whether that means improving your athletic or mental performance, managing a mental illness, or learning to better manage the different areas of life, we invite you to find and explore what gives you peace of mind through psychological support.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing Psychology aims to improve one’s holistic management between their physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Work with our psychologists to improve and enhance aspects of your life by working on key areas – including regulating emotions, mental coping mechanisms, improving sleep and exercise habits, social interaction or managing life’s demands.

Performance

Our mental approach to our performance can play a crucial part to an effective outcome. Our Performance Psychologists will aim to help you achieve your best by executing a range of mental strategies and skills that directly relate to your performance setting, such as your sport or workplace environment. Focus on performance anxiety, coping with pressure, time management, work life management, communication, working in teams and more.

Mental Health

Mental Health Psychology is a field which primarily deals with the treatment and promotion of good mental health through reducing the burden of psychological disorders. Psychology can be an effective tool for overcoming the mental struggles that appear in one’s life. Work with our experienced Psychologists to better understand your symptoms and circumstances. Together identify a range of techniques and coping mechanisms to help overcome and understand the severity and burden of your psychological makeup. Common areas in Mental Health Psychology consist of depression, anxiety, trauma, or personality disorders.
